About 1838 John Sadler was listed at the occupier of land owned by John Farrall at Huxley on the Cheshire tithe map consisting of nine acres of land in seven parcels including a house and garden known as Brook Cottage (now Brook Lodge). The year is not quite correct as William Sadler died in 1836 and according to the book 'A History of Huxley & Hargrave' John Sadler moved to the family homestead by 1838.
