Sam Parson's enjoyed tennis on his own court and also rode over to Hintz's to play.

The first tennis court in the district was opened at the Hintz homestead in 1911. Friends and neighbours travelled many miles by buggy for tennis parties.
Frank hintz had his first motor car in 1910 ( a Hudson). He made arrangements for horses to pass on the inside of the raod. He was also the first farmer to start contract shearing.
Many of the paddocks are named after the men who felled the thick native bush - Whittons, Sheehan, Mathesons, Revells and Martins.

Mr Joblin , after selling his property (part to H. Harris and part to Frank Hintz) took up residenc in Taihape and was Mayor of the town for some years.

Page 74 - There were several surveyed tracks between Pohonui and Te Kapua; the one used most frequently being the Huia track from Frank Hintz's on the Whaka road to Koeke Junction, so that there was a lot of communication between the two districts.
Page 75 - Murray's track, the main track through the district, continued northward from the Mangaone clearing up to Carsons. This place was later occupied by Eddie Batt, Palmers and Archers; the latter family lived at Pukemoupo Junction. The track then continued past Devanes, Micklesons, Wilkes, Smiths and several other homes to Rongoiti and Mataroa.
