Mr Brickland, with his brother Mr Joseph Brickland, succeeded his father in the old established fish and poultry business in Bridge Street, and was well known, and much respected by all who knew him. Of retiring disposition, Mr Brickland did not take an active interest in the social life of the city, but he was fond of sport, and he was popular among a wide circle of friends. The business was taken over by MacFisheries and his nephew Mr Chas Brickland became manager.
