The obituary is an excerpt from a coroner's inquest into her tragic death as reported in the local newspaper and (I assume) can be taken for it's word. I do not have a copy of the newspaper, but it is the Croydon Express dated Sept. 28, 1907.

MARRIED WOMANS'S SUICIDE - The Borough Coroner (Dr. T. Jackson) held an inquest on Monday, at the Croydon General Hospital, concerning the death of Harriet Hall, aged 53 years. - John Minter Hall, husband of deceased, a tea buyer, living at 21, Lodge Villas, Windmill Road, said that his wife had not been well for some time, and had been ordered by the doctor to Folkestone, where she stayed for three

Harriet Chapman. Her birth certificate records the birth date of August 24, 1854 at Radnor Street, Folkestone. In the 1861 census she is shown as "Scholar". She is also in the 1871 census, but now as "Apprentice". The trade is not specified, but in the 1881 census her occupation is "Draper". She is at 57 Radnor in all those years.

Her marriage was solemnized at Christ Church, Folkestone on November 20, 1883. The witnesses were William Fuller Chapman (her brother), and
