Where a cause of death has been recorded in the family records it has been grouped into broad categories. This covers 432 deaths across the tree for which a cause is known. The causes are written in many different ways, so they have been sorted into categories for the charts and the groupings are a guide rather than a clinical classification.
Recorded causes of death
Number of deaths in each category
Age at death by cause
Median age at death, lowest to highest
Causes of death over time
How each decade breaks down by cause
About this data. Only deaths with a cause written in the records are counted, so this is a subset of everyone in the tree rather than a full mortality picture. Categories are a grouping of free-text causes. Infectious clusters usually reflect the era and living conditions of the time rather than anything inherited. Last updated 29-08-2026.
