My Dear Mona

Your ever welcome letter received alright. But I am sure you will have thought me very wicked for not writing sooner but you know I am getting very bad at letter writing.

I hope you are keeping quite well and also all the rest of the family. I cannot say I am too well I have had a bad attack of this sickness and the cramp is still very bad and I don’t get better of this stiffness but must not complain as there is plenty worse than me. All the rest of the family are quite well so that

is a lot to be thankful for.

May is busy cleaning down but I cannot do much in that line.

Easter is very soon this year, it is a very wet day here today but rain is badly needed. Auntie Jennings keeping very well and Aunt Emma again back to her job but her foot is far from being better yet she has a very bad foot. You may have heard that Aunt Maggie is in a home at York for this nervous complaint. It is a pity she has had to go but we hope it will all be for the best. But I dare say Auntie Jennings has given Annie all the details.

I hope Annie and all at Greystones are all quite well but this changeable weather will have a

great deal to do with the pains and stiffness. Well Dear Mona your letter did not surprise me much about you getting married you are both a good age and you are not rushing with getting married as some are. I wish you both the best of luck and happiness. I shall feel more content when I know you are in a home of your own. Give my love to Billy and God bless you both.

I was sorry to hear that ? was not too well and I hope she is better and all at Mrs Mathews.

We got a surprise last weekend when Kate pop in then on Sunday our Emma and family came all the girls are getting up. Elsie is a very fine looking girl and she had

got a long frock on but it made her look far too old as she is only 15. I am pleased Margaret likes her work I owe her a letter they were all quite well when we heard from Cumbria Auntie Jennings sends her love to all don’t be long before you write and forgive me for being so long

Death Notice in West Lancashire Evening Gazette Tuesday April 24th 1934

INGLESON on April 21st at 15 St. Bedes Avenue. Ellen widow of Josias Ingleson aged 75 years. Service at St. Peter's tommorrow (Wednesday) at 2.15pm followed by interment at Blackpool Cemetery, 3.30pm.

The family of the late Mrs INGLESON wishes to thank all friends for the kind expressions of sympathy and floral tributes received during their recent and sad bereavement - 15 St. Bede's Avenue.

The grave was puchased on 3rd October 1916 by Elizabeth Jennings. She paid £3 10 Shillings.

The headstone at Grave R278 does not mention Ellen reads:

Email from Blackpool Cemetery Records Office:

Ellen Ingleson died at 15 St. Bede's Avenue, Blackpool and was buried in Grave Ref. R278 at Layton Cemetery, Blackpool on 25 April 1934. Unfortunately, the Register does not show a date of death but it would have been a few days prior to the funeral. Mrs Ingleson was indeed 75 years old when she died and was a widow.

Also interred in the grave are:-

Josias Ingleson, buried 11 October 1929 aged 70. Mr Ingleson of 3 Prospect Road, Blackpool was a retired gentleman who died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Charles Jennings, buried 1 September 1916 aged 67. Mr Jennings, a Company House Keeper, died in the South Shore area of Blackpool.
