Mrs Emma Mansell's Funeral

FUNERAL, - The funeral of the late Mrs Emma Mansell
late of the Old Swan Hotel, took place at the
Cheltenham Cemetery on Friday. The coffin was
of polished oak with brass furniture, and bore
the following inscription: "Emma Mansell, died
March 21st. aged 61 years." The chief mourners
were Mr W. Mansell, Mrs Jesurum, Mr H.
Mansell, Mrs Davies, Mr C, Mansell, Mrs
Dunn, Mrs Howe, Mr Tom Mansell, Miss B.
Mansell, Mrs Jones [deceased's sister], Mrs
Williams [sister-in-law] Miss Williams [niece]
and Mrs Harding [an old friend of the family].
Other friends were also present. A number of floral
tributes were sent from the following: "From
her loving sons, William, Harry, Charlie, Tom
and Jack", "In loving remembrance from her
sorrowing daughter, Doll". In loving memory
of dear mother, from Alice and Harry": Rest
perfect rest from her loving grandsons, Harry and Charlie";

sympathy". The family desire to return their sincere
thanks to all friends who made kind
inquiries during the mother's illness, and have
since shown their sympathy with them in their
loss.

Notes of Joan Carthy:
The Mrs Williams mentioned was Jane Mansell, Henry's sister and Miss Williams was My Great Aunt Lizzie [Baptised Eliza]. It was her daughter with whom I stayed in Cheltenham often, up to 1996. The extract was undated and I do not know when Emma was born If you can tell me that we can date the cutting.
