Exhaustive investigations strongly suggest that she changed her birth name from Mary Ann KELLY to Mary WAINWRIGHT.

1871 Census records her, aged 12, living with Ellis WAINWRIGHT and his wife Ruth KELLY.

1881 Census records her married to John BEAGAN but living at the same address as Ellis WAINWRIGHT and his wife Ruth KELLY.

She was married to John BEAGAN on 16th August 1880. The marriage certificate records her father as John WAINWRIGHT, a deceased Brickmaker. There is absolutely no trace of
