Jean Uarda (Johnson) Strawcutter, 84, of Indiana, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. Andrew's Village.

She was born in 1928 to Cecil M.(Pop) and Norah (Taylor) Johnson in Pittsburgh.

Jean was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana.

She was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College in 1950.

She taught elementary school for several years before devoting her life to raising a family. An avid reader and accomplished seamstress, knitter and quilter, she also enjoyed camping, traveling and never missed Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune or the opportunity to play a round of bridge.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years Richard M. Strawcutter, Indiana; a son Mark and wife Linda, Indiana; three daughters Karen Socash and husband Matthew, Erie; Anne Miller and husband Keith, Windber; Laura Wilking and husband Stephen of Imperial; 8 grandchildren; one great granddaughter and a sister Patricia Allison and husband Donald, Clymer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Yvonne and a sister Mary.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana with Rev. William Milligan officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Free Library or the Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana.
