The graves themselves including bodies were left in the ground. Headstone inscriptions and grave locations were detailed in a book called “Monumental Inscriptions – St John the Baptist Chester 1912”. Only one copy of this book exists. The inscription for this grave: In Loving Memory of Mary, wife of John Sadler, died 1 Jan 1867 aged 38. Also above John Sadler died 27 May 1875, aged 42 |
