WILL of Martha Sadler of Tattenhall, Co. Chester, widow — dated 8 October 1859, proved Chester 11 July 1860 (Consistory Court of Chester). This is the last Will and Testament of me Martha Sadler of Tattenhall in the County of Chester Widow Whereby subject to the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences I then Will and direct that all the rest and residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever or kindsoever it may consist of shall be or the value of the same be divided into nine equal shares or parts to correspond with the number of my children now living or deceased and I give to my said children named William, John, Charles, Ephraim, James, and the children of my two daughters deceased named Elizabeth and Ann also to my two daughters named Martha Lee and Frances Hannah Shaw all in said residue property share and share alike and the share or shares of my two daughters Elizabeth and Ann deceased I Will and direct that such share or part as would have belonged to each of my daughters deceased shall be devided to their children or descendants share and share alike And the two shares belonging to my daughters Martha Lee and Frances Hannah Shaw I Will and direct for the same to either remain at interest where they are at present or at interest under such other securities as my Executors and the legatees may all agree on but best provided and is my Will that my Executors shall not be liable on their own account for any loss or law charges belonging to the same and I Will and direct that the said two shares or legacies shall remain at interest during the natural lives of my said two daughters and their present husbands respectively and that they shall have and receive the yearly interest for their use and benefit and at the decease of the said legatees I direct the said principal of each share as they may fall due to be equally divided betwixt their children or descendants by which term I mean my grand children by my said two daughters My goods and chattels which I have not given away are as follows two feather beds and one chaff bed with the furniture belonging to the same, six mahogany chairs, one mahogany dining table one do round Stand six rush bottomed chairs One Arm chair a Sofa, Chest of Drawers Clothes Chest, Wash Hand Stand, dressing table mahogany Swing glass Writing desk fire irons My clothes linen and Earthenware I give to be divided between my two daughters without being valued as part of my personal property The other named goods and furniture must be either sold or valued and the proceeds of the same added to the general sum of my personal property to be divided I hereby name and appoint Mr George Brown of Liverpool Corn Merchant and my eldest Son William Sadler of Haughton in the parish of Bunbury and my youngest son James Sadler as and for the Executors of this my last Will and Testament this the eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine. PROBATE: On the 11th day of July 1860 the Will of Martha Sadler late of Tattenhall in the County of Chester Widow deceased was proved by the oaths of William Sadler and James Sadler the Sons of the said deceased, two of the Executors named in the said Will, having been first sworn duly to administer.
