Funeral services were held in the ward chapel Saturday afternoon over the remains of Mrs. Jane Shaw, who passed away at the home of her son, Abraham Shaw of Aurora, after having been confined to her bed for the past two months.

The services were conducted by Bishop J.C. Cowley. Appropriate music was rendered by a quartet of the ward. Prayer was offered by Henry Peterson of the Glenwood Ward. The speakers were H.H. Bell who spoke on the life of Grandma Shaw, pointing out what a great influence for good she had on the lives of all who were aquainted with her.

To the last she was always cheerful and had a pleasant word for all. Mrs. Annie Gardner was the next speaker and paid glowing tribute to the beautiful character of Grandma Shaw. Robert Poole gave a vocal solo, "The End of a Perfect Day". Patriarach Lazenby of the North Sevier Stake also spoke very highly of the beautiful life of the deceased, and spoke many comforting words of sympathy to the bereaved family. A.W. Buchanan said he had known the departed for a long time and could say amen to all the good things that the former speakers had said. He stressed the fact that she was a grand and noble mother, always devoted to her family and how in the years after the death of her husband she struggled along, always seeing the bright side of life. Closing remarks were given by Bishop J.C. Cowley who endorsed the remarks of all who had spoken before him and added many beautiful word of comfort and cheer to those who re left to mourn the loss of their dear mother.

The closing song was, "Oh What Song of the Heart". The benediction was pronounced by G. Brugger.

Mrs. Shaw reached the ripe old age of 89 years. Surviving are the following children; Mrs. T.E. Jackson of Salt Lake, Abraham Shaw of Aurora, Fred and Thomas Shaw of Venice, Mrs. Roy Larsen of Ferron, Mrs. Rowe of Idaho, and Mrs. Nancy Walker of Eureka.
